Team Germany takes team event gold at IBSF World Championships

OTTAWA, March 4 (Xinhua) -- Current title-holders Germany have taken gold in the team event at the 2019 IBSF World Championships in Whistler on Monday.

With a line-up comprising Christopher Grotheer (men's skeleton), Anna Kohler/Lisa Sophie Gericke (2-woman bobsleigh), Sophia Griebel (women's skeleton), and Johannes Lochner/Marc Rademacher (2-man bobsleigh), team Germany 2 enjoyed a 0.15 second lead over their Canadian hosts.

Canada's Dave Greszczyszyn, Christine de Bruin/Kristen Bujnowski, Mirela Rahneva, and Nick Poloniato/Keefer Joyce secured the silver medal at their home World Championships.

Bronze went to team team USA 2, made up of Greg West, Brittany Reinbolt and Jessica Davis, Savannah Graybill, and Geoffrey Gadbois and Kristopher Horn (0.64 seconds behind).
