TEHRAN, March 6 (Xinhua) -- Iran's President Hassan Rouhani on Wednesday ruled out the possibility of negotiations with the United States over the existing thorny issues.

By exerting pressures on Iran, the United States is seeking to overthrow the Islamic establishment, Rouhani said in live broadcast in the northern city of Lahijan.

He acknowledged economic hardship in the Iranian society due to Washington's sanctions pressures.

"We are in a state of economic and psychological war," he said, vowing that Iran will not surrender to the U.S. pressures.

The United States has reimposed sanctions on Iran, including its oil exports and banking sectors, following its exit from the landmark Iranian nuclear deal last May.

In reaction, Iran has vowed to keep working with its global partners to neutralize U.S. sanctions.
