PARIS, March 6 (Xinhua) -- French shares lost on Wednesday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 down 0.16 percent, or 8.71 points, to close at 5,288.81 points.
Of the 40 selected large companies, 24 lost in the day.
French-Italian multinational electronics and semiconductor manufacturer STMicroelectronics lost 3.68 percent. French software company Dassault Systemes dropped 2.70 percent. French global automotive supplier Valeo shed 2.68 percent.
French multinational advertising and public relations company Publicis Groupe advanced 1.00 percent. French multinational company which supplies industrial gases and services to various industries Air Liquide rose 0.86 percent. French multinational food-products corporation Danone rose 0.64 percent.
