JINAN, March 9 (Xinhua) -- Brazilian striker Roger Guedes scored twice to help Shandong Luneng tie Henan Jianye 2-2 here on Saturday, quelling the rumor of his transfer back to Brazilian Serie A.
"It's only wishful thinking," Luneng coach Li Xiaopeng said of the rumor.
Guedes scored both goals for Luneng before the visitors netted their equalizer to share the points in the second round of the Chinese Super League (CSL).
The 22-year-old Guedes joined Shandong Luneng from Atletico Mineiro last July. And Luneng aim to go further both in CSL and the Asian Champions League.
Earlier, Jose Carlos Peres, president of Brazilian Serie A side Santos, expressed his intent to sign Guedes after their first-choice striker was recovering from a serious knee injury.
