China wins 3 medals at short track worlds in Sofia

SOFIA, March 9 (Xinhua) -- China won two silver and one bronze medals at the Short Track Speed Skating World Championships here on Saturday.

Fan Kexin grabbed the silver medal in the women's 500m in 43.427 seconds, where Lara van Ruijven of the Netherlands won the title in 43.267 and Suzanne Schulting of the Netherlands came third with 43.518.

In the men's 500m competition, the Olympic winner Wu Dajing won the silver medal in 42.725 seconds and Ren Ziwei took the bronze in 42.888, with the gold medal being taken by Hwang Dae Heon of South Korea in 42.490.

Earlier on Saturday, South Korean Choi Min Jeong and Lim Hyo Jun won the women's and men's gold medals in 1,500 meters respectively.

The men's and women's 1,000m and 3,000m competitions are on Sunday, as well as the finals of the women's 3000m relay and men's 5,000m relay. Enditem
