BERLIN, March 11 (Xinhua) -- Sebastien Haller's second half brace helped Eintracht Frankfurt beat newly promoted Fortuna Dusseldorf at the closer of the 25th round in Bundesliga on Monday.

Dusseldorf's winning streak came to an end as Frankfurt wrapped up their third straight victory on the goals from Goncalo Paciencia and Sebastien Haller.

The hosts grabbed a bright start on home soil and thought they had opened the scoring with just two minutes played but Dawid Kownacki's goal was ruled offside.

Frankfurt lacked in penetration whereas Dusseldorf reaped the clear-cut chances as Matthias Zimmermann's cross rattled the woodwork at the half-hour mark.

Just before the break, Dusseldorf goalkeeper Michael Rensing had to deny Frankfurt's Luka Jovic on a one-on-one from promising position.

The visitors caught a fairy tale start into the second half as Jonathan de Guzman's delivery into the box found Goncalo Paciencia, who nodded home at the far post to break the deadlock in the 48th minute.

Dusseldorf responded well but lacked in accuracy in front of the goal as Benito Raman failed to overcome Frankfurt custodian Kevin Trapp five minutes after the opener.

The hosts thought they would get the chance to restore parity from the penalty spot but the video assistant referee annulled Martin Hinteregger's handball inside the box in the 61st minute.

Friedhelm Funkel's men squandered another golden chance in the 77th minute as Rouwen Hennigs failed to make the most out of Kenan Karaman's build-up work from inside the box.

However, the goals were scored at the other end of the pitch as Sebastian Haller doubled the lead after slotting home Paciencia's through ball from 13 meters in the closing period.

Dusseldorf were shocked while Haller extended the lead in the dying seconds of the game after tapping home Filip Kostic's square pass.

With the result, Eintracht Franfurt defend their 5th place in the standings whereas Fortuna Dusseldorf continue on the 11th position.
