CBOT crop futures higher on Thursday morning

CHICAGO, March 14 (Xinhua) -- Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) agricultural futures traded higher on Thursday morning.

As of 1605 GMT, the most active corn contract for May delivery was up 4.25 cents to 3.7075 U.S. dollars per bushel, while May wheat was up 10.5 cents to 4.5775 dollars per bushel, and May soybeans were up 1 cent to 9.02 dollars per bushel.

Extreme weather will impact the central and northern plains, and many parts of the U.S. Midwest on Thursday.

The National Weather Service has issued tornado warnings for North Dakota and South Dakota. A "bomb cyclone" is also bringing heavy rains and hurricane-force winds to the central states, triggering flood warnings in Iowa and Nebraska. Enditem
