Rondon, Rincon to lead Venezuela against Argentina

CARACAS, March 15 (Xinhua) -- Newcastle United striker Salomon Rondon and Torino midfielder Tomas Rincon were Thursday named in Venezuela's squad for friendlies against Argentina and Catalunya.

As expected, head coach Rafael Dudamel also included Espanyol defender Roberto Rosales, DC United midfielder Junior Moreno and Atlanta United forward Josef Martinez.

Meanwhile there were recalls for playmakers Luis Manuel Seijas and Juan Pablo Anor, who have impressed for Colombia's Santa Fe and Spain's Huesca, respectively.

Venezuela face Argentina in Madrid on March 22 and Catalunya in Girona three days later.

The Vinotinto have also confirmed friendlies against Ecuador, Mexico and the United States in early June as they prepare for the Copa America.

The world's oldest continental international football tournament will be played in Brazil from June 14 to July 7. Venezuela have been drawn in Group A alongside Brazil, Peru and Bolivia.

Goalkeepers: Wuilker Farinez, Rafael Romo.

Defenders: Roberto Rosales, Ronald Hernandez, Alexander Gonzalez, Yordan Osorio, Jhon Chancellor, Nahuel Ferraresi, Mikel Villanueva, Luis Mago.

Midfielders: Tomas Rincon, Junior Moreno, Arquimedes Figuera, Luis Manuel Seijas, Yangel Herrera, Darwin Machis, Yeferson Soteldo, Sergio Cordova, Jhon Murillo, Juan Pablo Anor.

Forwards: Salomon Rondon, Josef Martinez, Jan Hurtado, Fernando Aristeguieta, Jhonder Cadiz.
