KIEV, March 21 (Xinhua) -- Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov has expressed the hope that no violations of rules would take place during the upcoming presidential elections in the country, the government press service said on Thursday.
"I think we will hold fair elections without violations," Avakov was quoted as saying.
The minister noted that the fairness of the electoral process is an issue of national security for Ukraine.
Ukraine will hold presidential elections on March 31, with some 29,800 polling stations to be set in 199 electoral districts and about 131,500 law enforcement personnel to be deployed for security.
