Nigeria's Super Eagles beat Seychelles 3-1 in AFCON qualifier

LAGOS, March 22 (Xinhua) -- Nigeria eased past Seychelles 3-1 on Friday in oil rich city of Asaba, capital of Delta, in their final game of the qualifiers for the 2019 Africa Cup of nations (AFCON).

Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo scored a first half penalty kick, while Henry Onyekuru and Moses Simon scored in the second half for the Nigerian side to end 2019 AFCON qualifiers as Group E winners.

Pirates of Seychelles player Boby Melaine ever leveled the score at 1-1 in the 41st minute.

The group's other fixture has the Mediterranean Knights of Libya against Bafana Bafana of South Africa at Sfax in Tunisia on Sunday.

The draw for the biennial men's football championship of Africa will take place on April 12, at the Confederation of African Football (CAF) headquarters in Cairo.

The 24 qualified teams from the 12 groups will be seeded into four pots based on the CAF National Team Rankings, and then the teams will be drawn into six groups of four teams.

The 32nd edition of the AFCON is set to run from June 21 to July 19. Enditem
