Marquez sets early pace in Argentina

TERMAS DE RIO HONDO, Argentina, March 29 (Xinhua) -- Honda's defending MotoGP champion Marc Marquez recorded the fastest time in the opening practice session for the Argentine Grand Prix on Friday, edging out Ducati rider Jack Miller.

Spain's Marquez set a best lap of one minute 39.827 seconds at the Termas de Rio Hondo track in northern Argentina, 0.353 seconds ahead of Australian Miller.

Honda's Cal Crutchlow was third quickest, finishing just 0.035 seconds behind Miller.

Yamaha's Franco Morbidelli was next, followed by Aprilia's Andrea Iannone while KTM's Johann Zarco rounded out the top six.

Italy's Ducati rider Andrea Dovizioso, winner of the season's opening race in Qatar on March 10, was seventh and seven-time world champion Valentino Ross 10th on his Yamaha, exactly one second behind Marquez.
