BEIJING, March 30 (Xinhua) -- "White Water" and "Dust," a double bill by choreographer Lin Hwai-min, founder and art director of world-renowned Cloud Gate Dance Theater, will be staged at the National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA) from April 18 to 21.

While "White Water," set to piano music by Erik Satie, flows like a movable celebration of life, "Dust," set to a powerful rendering of Shostakovich's String Quartet No. 8, evokes a memory of Francisco Goya's Black Paintings, says a post on the website of the NCPA.

The performance represents a farewell from Lin, who in late 2019 is expected to leave the post of art director of Cloud Gate Dance Theater that he founded in Taiwan in 1973, according to the NCPA.

Cloud Gate Dance Theater borrows its name from the oldest known dance in China. Its repertoire has its roots in Asian myths, folklore and esthetics but brings to them to the audience with a contemporary and universal perspective.
