SHENYANG, April 1 (Xinhua) -- Shenyang Palace Museum in northeastern Liaoning Province started an exhibition on Monday showcasing 100 antiques such as precious porcelain wares, sculptures, paintings and embroideries.

The exhibits were selected from some 100,000 items. Among them, there are imperial furniture and artwork dating back to the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).

An enamel refrigerator caught the attention of many. It is funnel-shaped with a square top and bottom. The six sides of the refrigerator are all decorated with the delicate craft of cloisonne enamel.

Li Shengneng, a curator of the museum, said the refrigerator can be used both to preserve food and as an air conditioner by sending out cool air through its air holes.

Shenyang Palace Museum was the imperial palace of three Qing emperors. Some 200,000 imperial items and books were transferred here from Beijing during the Qing Dynasty.

As of the end of September 2016, the museum has 105,085 antiques on record.

The exhibition will last for two months.
