NAIROBI, April 4 (Xinhua) -- Kenya started their Africa Junior rugby title quest on a strong footing as they crushed Tunisia 73-0 in Nairobi on Thursday.

Senegal and champions Namibia are also part of the four nation competition. The championship features players aged 20 years and below.

"It was our best performance ever," said head coach Paul Odera in Nairobi. "We will look at ball carrying and strengthen the passing. There's nothing much we can do between now and Sunday."

The winner of the competition will qualify for the Junior World Rugby Trophy, the second tier of global age grade world championships organized by World Rugby in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

From the win, Kenya will now prepare for a repeat final clash against champions Namibia on Sunday.

Kenya captain Boniface Ochieng said they will be ready for Namibia challenge. "We have played Namibia three times but we have been reducing the deficit. Now we are at home and we will give our best."

At the same time Rugby Africa congress said the Africa Junior Cup will be contested by three groups graded by level, with four teams in each of Groups A and B and 3 teams in Group C. These groups have been established according to the 2018 rankings.

Group A, which is going on in Nairobi will be made up of teams from Kenya, Tunisia, Namibia and Senegal.

The winner of this group will be entitled to participate in the Junior World Trophy 2019, while the losing team will be relegated to Group B in 2020. Enditem
