VIENTIANE, April 5 (Xinhua) -- The Lao Archery Federation is looking to recruit younger competitors to bolster the national team's medal hopes at the 30th SEA Games in the Philippines in November.

The current national squad comprises men and women who competed at previous SEA Games and the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia, but the federation is keen to bring in some new blood to make the team more competitive on the international stage, local daily Vientiane Times reported on Friday.

The archery squad is preparing at a local sports school, and younger competitors will have an opportunity to push their claims for selection during upcoming training at the April Five International Shooting Range in the capital Vientiane ahead of the SEA Games.

The Lao Archery Federation received an investment of over 120,000 U.S. dollars to spend on equipment and training ahead of the last year's Asian Games in Indonesia.
