CHINGOLA, Zambia, April 8 (Xinhua) -- The Zambian government on Monday commended two Chinese construction firms for their commitment to the construction of mega projects on the Copperbelt Province.

Bright Nundwe, Copperbelt Province Permanent Secretary, commended AVIC International Corporation and China National Complete Engineering Corporation for the progress made in the construction of a modern international airport and a water supply improvement project.

He urged other contractors to emulate the two Chinese firms' commitment to duty on executing various projects.

"The two contractors are not just moving at a faster rate but also executing quality works which will stand a test of time," he said.

The permanent secretary said the provincial administration will not allow any delays in the completion of projects in region, adding that quality works should be executed by all contractors.

According to him, President Edgar Lungu wanted to ensure all projects in the province and the entire country are completed according to specified time frames.
