GUIYANG, April 9 (Xinhua) -- Young entrepreneurs from China and Japan conducted economic and trade exchanges in southwest China's Guizhou Province Tuesday.

The event was held by the Guizhou provincial government, the China Youth Entrepreneurs Association and the Junior Chamber International Japan. More than 160 young entrepreneurs from both countries attended the event.

"We hope that Japanese entrepreneurs at the event today will use the opportunity to gain investment potential in China," said Tang Wenhong with China's Ministry of Commerce. "Guizhou has a good environment and is becoming one of the most vigorous places in China."

Tang said he hopes Japanese entrepreneurs can use the advantages they have in areas such as research and development, technology and managerial experience to tap the potential in the Chinese market, particularly in Guizhou, to push for more development.

Japan's exchanges with Guizhou have been rising in many areas. So far, Japan has set up 40 enterprises in the province. Japan is also an important source of foreign capital for Guizhou. Last year, their trade reached 249 million U.S. dollars.
