BEIJING, April 16 (Xinhua) -- Vice chairpersons of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Liu Qibao, Lu Zhangong, Xia Baolong, Yang Chuantang, Zheng Jianbang, Gu Shengzu, He Wei, Shao Hong and Gao Yunlong, on Tuesday participated in a tree-planting event in Beijing.

They were joined by nearly 300 staff members of the working organs of the CPPCC National Committee at the event held at the Xishan National Forest Park in Haidian District, during which more than 1,050 saplings of different types of trees were planted.

Over the years, the CPPCC National Committee working organs have consistently organized voluntary tree-planting activities as part of their efforts to boost ecological development.

Political advisors have also been mobilized to investigate ecological and environmental protection issues and put forward proposals in such areas.
