LONDON, April 16 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Tuesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.44 percent, or 33.05 points, to close at 7,469.92 points.
St James's Place, a UK-based wealth management business, soared 2.76 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. WPP and Prudential increased by 2.76 percent and 2.73 percent, respectively.
Mondi, an international packaging and paper group, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 2.49 percent.
