AMMAN, April 18 (Xinhua) -- Jordan said on Thursday that it supports the construction of a Turkish industrial zone inside the kingdom and will provide all support to Turkish investments, official Petra news agency reported.

Muhannad Shehadeh, chairman of the Jordan Investment Commission, made the remarks at his meeting with a visiting Turkish delegation of businessmen and investors.

Turkish investors can benefit from Jordan's strategic location as a gateway to the region, Shehadeh said.

Jordan is home to the required and talented human resources in the fields of technology, energy, renewable energy, tourism and other industries, he added.

Jordan is making an effort to provide all facilities and support to investments in several arenas, the minister noted.

Meanwhile, the Turkish delegation said Jordan's measures encourage Turkish companies to invest in the kingdom, expecting an increase in Turkish investments in the near future.

Last year, Jordan terminated a free trade agreement with Turkey, saying it was not a win-win deal. The two countries later said they were looking into mechanisms to boost commercial cooperation in several sectors.
