DAMASCUS, April 24 (Xinhua) -- One person was killed and five others wounded on Wednesday when an explosion occurred in Syria's capital Damascus, state TV reported.
The explosion rocked the Naher Aysheh area south of Damascus, said the report, adding that investigations are underway to determine its nature.
The Syrian capital has been living overwhelming calm since the army liberated the Eastern Ghouta countryside last year.
