JAKARTA, April 24 (Xinhua) -- A total of 203 paragliders will compete in the International Paragliding Championships in Indonesia later this month, an official confirmed on Wednesday.
The first series of the Trip of Indonesia Batang Championship is scheduled to be held from April 25 to 28 in Bukit Sikuping of Batang district in Central Java province, the head of the provincial tourism office Wahyu Budi Santoso said.
"We have to restrict the number of participants to 203 as the enthusiasm is high. The paragliders from foreign countries are also to take part," he said.
"This is a good opportunity for us to promote and introduce the potential of tourism in this area, including the beauty of the scenery," he was quoted by Antara newswire as saying.
