Tianjin ease past Hong Kong in Asian Women's Club V'Ball Championship

TIANJIN, April 27 (Xinhua) -- Bohai Bank Tianjin claimed a convincing 3-0 (25-10, 25-12, 25-13) victory over Hong Kong International Volleyball Club in the opening day of the 2019 Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship here on Saturday.

Tianjin, the four-time Asian Club champion,took the dominance for most of the time as Wang Yuanyuan and Wang Yizhu each netted 14 points.

"We have many young players who are participating in the Asian Championship for the first time, it's a big challenge for them," said captain Yao Di, "I hope we can reach the final, but it won't be easy, especially when we face the clubs from Japan or Thailand."

Tianjin led the Pool A in front of Altay VC from Kazakhstan, who eased past TPE of Chinese Taipei 3-0 (26-24, 25-18, 25-20).

In Pool B, defending champion Supreme Chonburi from Thailand were shocked by DPR Korea's 4.25 Club 3-2 (26-24, 25-18, 22-25, 21-25, 12-15). Captain Jong Jin Sim hit a match-high 36 points to help the 4.25 Club come back from a 2-0 deficit to beat the successive two-time champions.

Japan's powerhouse Hisamitsu Seiyaku Springs swept Sri Lanka Air Force Sports Club 3-0 (25-10, 25-7, 25-7) to top the Pool B, while VTV Binh Dien Long An from Vietnam smashed Binagar of Turkmenistan 3-0 (25-10, 25-11, 25-14). Enditem
