AMMAN, April 30 (Xinhua) -- Jordan's lower house on Tuesday said Israel's unilateral measures undermine efforts to attain peace in the Middle East, the state-run Petra news agency reported.
Jordan's Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh made the remarks at a meeting with a Czech parliamentary delegation, where he said Jordan will continue to support the Palestinian issue and the Palestinians.
Reiterating support for the two-state solution that entails creating an independent state of Palestine that lives side by side with Israel in peace and security, he said the solution is the key to regional stability and security.
The lower house speaker stressed that the international community's silence over Israel's unilateral measures and intransigence and confiscating the legitimate rights of the Palestinians will not bring about desired peace and stability in the Middle East.
Tarawneh added that the U.S. measures represented in relocating the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem and recognizing Israel's sovereignty over the occupied Golan Heights will only fuel conflicts in the Middle East, calling on the Czech parliamentarians to stop any attempts in their country to relocate the Czech embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.
The Czech delegation voiced support for Jordan's efforts to attain peace and security in the Middle East.
They also voiced appreciation of Jordan's efforts in hosting a large number of refugees.
The Czech delegation said the Czech government and parliament support the two-state solution and no decision will be taken to relocate their embassy to Jerusalem.
