TIANJIN, May 1 (Xinhua) -- Defending champion Supreme Chonburi from Thailand snapped Hisamitsu Seiyaku Springs' winning streak in the 2019 Asian Women's Club V'Ball here on Wednesday.

Aprilia Santini Manganang scored a game-high 21 points to help the two-time champions bag a 3-1 (25-16, 22-25, 25-22, 25-18) victory over the Japanese powerhouse, sprinting to the top of Pool B with 13 points.

Supreme Chonburi will face Hong Kong International Volleyball Club in the quarter-finals on Friday while Hisamitsu Seiyaku Springs take on TPE of Chinese Taipei.

Without leading scorer Jong Jin Sim, 4.25 Sport Club of DPR Korea finished third of the group by overwhelming Binagar of Turkmenistan 3-0 (25-8, 25-8, 25-8).

In Pool A, TPE of Chinese Taipei claimed their first victory after beating Hong Kong International Volleyball Club 3-0 (25-10, 25-15, 25-22).

Based on the tournament regulation, top four teams from each pool will advance to the quarter-finals. However, the withdrawal of Iran sends the rest four teams in Pool A all to the knock-out stage.

In other two duels of the last 8, the hosts Bohai Bank Tianjin will face VTV Binh Dien Long An from Vietnam while Kazakhstan's Altay VC play against 4.25 Sport Club of DPR Korea.
