Senior official stresses CPC leadership over work of ethnic, religious affairs

BEIJING, May 6 (Xinhua) -- A senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official on Monday stressed strengthening the Party's centralized, unified leadership over the work of ethnic and religious affairs.

You Quan, a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and head of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, made the statement at the opening of a workshop attended by provincial and ministerial-level officials on the work of ethnic and religious affairs in Beijing.

Noting the changes in the environment and missions of the work, You called on improving officials' capability to ensure the CPC's decisions and plans regarding ethnic and religious affairs are well implemented.
