Inner Mongolia to renovate toilets for 50,000 rural households

HOHHOT, May 7 (Xinhua) -- North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region plans to renovate toilets for 50,000 herdsmen households within this year to improve their living standard, local authorities said.

Each household will receive an average of 3,000 yuan (443 U.S. dollars) for rebuilding toilets, according to Feng Renfei, head of provincial housing and urban-rural development department.

Since 2015, the regional government has advanced the national "toilet revolution" into rural areas.

China has been pressing ahead with "toilet revolution" in rural areas to improve rural residents' living quality. Nationwide, around 64,000 toilets will be built or improved at tourist destinations by 2020.
