LONDON, May 10 (Xinhua) -- Relegated Premier League club Fulham on Friday have confirmed Scott Parker as their first team coach for the next two seasons.

The 38-year-old former player was named the club's third coach of the season at the end of February, although he could do nothing to save them from dropping into the Championship.

Despite the confirmation of relegation, Parker has improved performances at the club and three wins in their last four matches have now earned him the job on a permanent basis.

"I'm excited by the challenge of what lies ahead," said Parker on the Fulham official website, saying he was grateful for being given "the responsibility of trying to get this club back into the league we're coming out of this season."

"Overall, I'm very, very excited at the challenge. We all realize how football is and in a short space of time since we've taken over, there has been improvement," he said, showing his confidence that he is the right man for the job of taking Fulham back to the top flight next season.

"I know how things work, I know the daily dynamics of the whole club. I know where improvements need to be made, I know where we can improve and move this club forward so that's going to help me," commented Parker.
