TOKYO, May 14 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened sharply lower Tuesday following a weak lead form Wall Street overnight, with investors in a risk-off mood on growing concerns about the outlook for the global economy amid trade issues.

As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average dropped 383.41 points, or 1.81 percent, from Monday to 20,807.87.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, fell 28.15 points, or 1.83 percent, at 1,512.99.

Rubber product, marine transportation and securities house-linked issues comprised those that declined the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell.
