Campaigning period set for election of Macao SAR chief executive election committee members

MACAO, May 20 (Xinhua) -- The period for campaigning by the 350 candidates for the elections of Macao chief executive election committee members will run from June 1 to June 14, the president of the special administrative region (SAR)'s chief executive election management committee said on Monday.

The committee's president Song Man Lei said that the committee would provide venues and time for the candidates, so that they could promote their electoral campaigns before the polling scheduled for June 16.

She called on those candidates to ensure promotional campaigns are conducted in line with the law.

According to the chief executive election law of Macao, a total of 344 members of the chief executive election committee will be elected.
