Namibia to take part in over-50s 2020 Cricket World Cup

WINDHOEK, May 27 (Xinhua) -- Namibia has agreed to participate in the Over-50s Cricket World Cup in Cape Town from March 9 to 25, 2020, the country's cricket body revealed.

According to Cricket Namibia, all players must be at least 50 years of age by March 11, 2020.

The 12 teams taking part are Australia, New Zealand, England, Wales, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Canada, South Africa, India, the West Indies, Namibia, and Zimbabwe.

Namibia has appointed a management committee to coordinate team selection and tournament participation, the organization added.

Meanwhile, in other African cricket news, Namibia and Kenya have qualified for the 2020 Cricket World Cup global qualifiers, after they emerged top of the African qualifiers that ended in Uganda on May 24.
