College graduate returns home for Tan sheep raising in China's Ningxia

Feng Huan drives sheep to run for an exercise in Ningxin ecological ranch in Yanchi County of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, May 27, 2019. Feng Huan, born in 1990, grew up in Yanchi County of Ningxia, where the mutton of Tan sheep is known for its fine taste and rich nutrition. Graduated from the Ningxia University in 2012, Feng worked in Beijing for several years with a stable income. He returned to his hometown in October of 2015 to take care of his families. By providing technical advices, Feng joined the Ningxin ecological ranch and began to raise Tan sheep thereafter. Nowadays, the ranch has an area of 1,100 mu (about 73 hectares) and over 6,000 Tan sheep, which brought an income of over 10 million yuan (about 1.45 million U.S. dollars) in 2018. Feng said he wished to build a rural service station where he and his friends can offer technical service on livestock disease prevention and treatment. (Xinhua/Wang Peng)
