BEIJING, May 31 (Xinhua) -- Over 800 artworks from Cartier and world museums will be on display at the Palace Museum in Beijing from June 1 to July 31.

The treasures come from museums including the Palace Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The oldest artwork can be traced back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).

Titled "Beyond Boundaries," the exhibition has three sections including "Chinese Inspirations," "Symbols of Power" and "Time memories."

In the first section, the Cartier and the Palace Museum display Chinese-inspired art creations in Western society and the ancient artworks from the Forbidden City with the aim to find cultural convergence and spiritual resonance between the Eastern and Western civilizations.

The "Symbols of Power" exhibits treasures from Western and oriental royal families and audiences can appreciate timepieces in the last section.
