The Sanhe Elementary School, located deep in the mountains of Ruijin, has only one teacher, 46-year-old Wang Beihai, and one student Chen Weiyu, a 9-year-old boy from a poverty-stricken family. The student Chen Weiyu, who lived with his grandapa, used to stude at a school about 20 kilometers away from his home. His grandpa had to take him to and from school by driving a tractor every day. Local government reopened Sanhe Elementary school, which is located nearby Chen's home, in 2019 to help the family, and then Wang Beihai came to the school to work as a teacher. Owing to inconvenient traffic there and in order to better take care of Chen, Wang decided to live with Chen at school from Monday to Friday. Besides teaching Chen different subjects, Wang also plays ball games with him after class, and takes cares of his daily life. They have developed a relationship beyond a teacher and a student.
