DAMASCUS, June 2 (Xinhua) -- The Syrian air defenses intercepted an Israeli missile attack south of the capital Damascus before daybreak Sunday, the state TV reported.
The Syrian air defenses responded to enemy targets in the southern countryside of Damascus, said the report, giving no further details.
Israel has repeatedly targeted Syrian military sites which it claims belong to Iranian-backed militia groups.
