BEIJING, June 4 (Xinhua) -- China's national office against organized crime on Tuesday sent an inspection team to Kunming, capital of Yunnan Province, to oversee the investigation into an organized crime case that has gained wide attention.

In April, the gangs involved in the case, including the main suspect called Sun Xiaoguo, were busted in a crackdown on organized crime in Kunming.

Wang Hongxiang, deputy director of the national office, will head the inspection team. Wang is also deputy secretary-general of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.

The inspection team will be joined by officials from the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the CPC and the National Supervisory Commission, the national office against organized crime, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuratorate, the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Justice and some experts.

The inspection team will ask relevant departments in Yunnan to accelerate the investigation and ensure that the case will stand the test of law and history, according to the office.

The office has listed the case as a major case.
