TEHRAN, June 5 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday that the so-called U.S.-devised peace plan between the Palestinians and Israel is doomed to failure.
"The plan, which is a betrayal of the Muslim world, will never succeed," Khamenei said, making the remarks during a speech at Muslims' Eid al-Fitr prayers ceremony.
Eid al-Fitr is a religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.
U.S. President Donald Trump has set forth his so-called "Deal of the Century" to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The plan is to be revealed at a Washington-led conference in Bahrain in June.
On Wednesday, Khamenei criticized Bahrain for hosting what he called the conference for "America's treacherous and evil plot for Palestinians," adding "the plot will never succeed."
