HANGZHOU, June 5 (Xinhua) -- NetEase Kaola, the cross-border e-commerce arm of China's leading internet company NetEase, on Wednesday opened a new cross-border intelligent bonded warehouse, its largest and most automated of the kind in China.
Located in the city of Ningbo, east China's Zhejiang Province, the warehouse can store more than 60 million items, with a daily handling capacity of 300,000 cross-border orders.
According to the principal of the warehouse, intelligent and automatic warehousing and logistics equipment such as shuttle vehicles, automatic package sorters and conveyors for boxes have been deployed. The task assignment in the warehouse can be adjusted dynamically through the Internet of Things and big data.
The warehousing efficiency can be improved by 30 percent compared with the common cross-border warehouse, the principal said.
Launched in 2015, NetEase Kaola had the biggest market share among China's cross-border e-commerce platforms last year, according to a report released by iiMedia Research, a Chinese consultancy.
Up to now, it has set up a warehousing network covering 15 cross-border pilot areas and a majority of pilot cities with a total area of more than 1 million square meters of bonded warehouse resources.
