KUWAIT CITY, June 5 (Xinhua) -- Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Wednesday condemned the terrorist attack on a security checkpoint in Egypt's Sinai.
In a cable of condolences sent to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, the emir expressed condemnation of this "heinous terrorist act" that targeted innocent lives and destabilized the country's stability and security, affirming Kuwait's firm stance with Egypt in all measures it has taken to maintain its security and stability.
The emir reiterated Kuwait's rejection of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and affirmed its stance with the international community to eliminate terrorism's sources.
At least eight Egyptian security men were killed on Wednesday when militants opened fire at a checkpoint in the North Sinai province, state media reported.
