PARIS, June 6 (Xinhua) -- France women's soccer team coach Corinne Diacre insisted on Thursday that her team had a peace mind ahead of the Women's World Cup as the opening match sets to kick off on June 7th.

Les Bleus were drawn with South Korea, Norway and Nigeria in Group A, and the hosts will take on South Korea in the curtain-raiser of the tournament.

"It is the first match of this tournament which will give us a certain feeling. My team felt peace now. To me, it's a normal match," said Diacre.

France claimed two consecutive victories in May beating both Thailand and China in friendly matches, and Diacre expected her team to do better.

"We played well in the friendly matches, and I hope the team could have a better performance tomorrow."

"It doesn't matter if we lose the first game, there are another two matches in the group, we still have chance to win the top place."

France haven't won the Cup in the seven editions and their best performance came in 2011 when they finished fourth in Germany, yet Diacre didn't play down their prospect.

"We have ambitions, but we should play the game step by step." Enditem
