Uganda to face Jamaica, New Zealand in build-up for 2019 Netball World Cup

KAMPALA, June 11 (Xinhua) -- Uganda is scheduled to have two international build-up games in England ahead of the 2019 Netball World Cup.

Susan Anek, the president Uganda Netball Federation, told Xinhua in an interview on Tuesday that the national team, She Cranes, will face Jamaica on July 8 and New Zealand two days after in Liverpool.

"These games against the World third best team Jamaica and New Zealand who are fourth will help us tune-up well ahead of the start of the World Cup. These high profile international build-ups will help our team get into the right rhythm," said Anek.

England will host the Netball World Cup July 12-21 in Liverpool.

Uganda who also played in the 2015 World Cup in Australia is pooled in Group D with England, Scotland and Samoa.

Australia, Northern Ireland, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Malawi, Barbados, Singapore, Jamaica, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Trinidad and Tobago and Fiji are the other teams that qualified for the World Cup.
