Rasovszky, Cunha win 4th leg of FINA/CNSG Marathon Swim World Series

BEIJING, June 16 (Xinhua) -- Hungary's Kristof Rasovszky won the men's race at the fourth leg of the 2019 FINA/CNSG Marathon Swim World Series at home, while Ana Marcela Cunha of Brazil won the women's race, according to the official website of world swimming governing body FINA on Saturday.

Rasovszky completed the 10 kilometers in one hour 50 minutes and 12.7 seconds. His main rival, Ferry Weertman of the Netherlands, finished second in 1:50:19.2. Soren Meissner of Germany came third in 1:50:22.5.

Cunha led the women's race in 1:58:45.4. Her victory was expected, after previous successes this year in the Qatari capital and also in Setubal of Portugal. Ana Marcela Cunha is one of the best-ever female open water swimmers in the history of the FINA World Championships and had already won the race in Balaton in 2015 and 2018.

Italy's Arianna Bridi and Germany's Leonie Beck came second and third respectively.

The Series resumes on July 21 in Lac St Jean of Canada for the fifth-out-of-nine leg.
