BEIRUT, June 16 (Xinhua) -- Murat Ozler, president of the Turkey Africa Initiative, said Sunday that Turkey's Independent Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (MUSIAD) is planning to open a commercial center in Tripoli in northern Lebanon, the National News Agency reported.

"We aim at opening a commercial center in Tripoli to activate trade ties with the country and boost trade cooperation between businessmen in Lebanon and Turkey," Ozler said during his meeting with Tripoli's Head of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture Toufic Dabbousi.

Ozler said that the overview that Dabbousi gave during the meeting about potential projects in Tripoli meets the needs and ambitions of Turkey.

"Dabbousi proved that he is well aware of the ideas that Turkey aims to implement in order to boost Lebanese-Turkish ties in a way that would benefit both countries," he said.

Meanwhile, Dabbousi said that Lebanon offers big investment projects that can be of great benefit to Turkey and the Arab world.
