BEIJING, June 17 (Xinhua) -- A global short video contest organized by the People's Daily kicked off Monday to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

The contest, titled "@China," will be soliciting short video works on feelings or stories about China until August 15. Participants from both at home and abroad can submit their works to various platforms including the contest's official website (hellochina.pdnews.cn), universities, China Cultural Centers and Confucius Institutes.

The contest sets no limitation on occupation, language, nationality or professionalism. Any individual, group and company can sign up, according to its website.

An award ceremony will be held in Beijing in September, granting both general prizes and individual awards of different categories.

"It is hoped that people can see an authentic and comprehensive China through these videos," said Xu Zhengzhong, deputy editor-in-chief of the People's Daily.
