SINGAPORE, June 18 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.96 percent, or 30.74 points, to close at 3,238.73.
A total of 1.47 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.19 billion Singapore dollars (about 867.71 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 228 to 148.
The STI index went down 0.45 percent, or 14.64 points, to close at 3,207.99 Monday. Enditem
