BEIRUT, June 18 (Xinhua) -- Visiting head of the Saudi Shura Council delegation Saleh Bin Manih Al Khalyawi assured on Tuesday that the Saudi king is keen on enhancing ties with Lebanon in all areas, the National News Agency reported.

"The king is always keen on boosting ties with Lebanon not only on the governmental level but also on the level of Shura Council which represents the people and is not appointed by the king," Khalyawi said upon his arrival.

Khalyawi said his delegation will work on organizing meetings with the Lebanese Parliament in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Tammam Salam, head of the Lebanese-Saudi Parliamentary Friendship Committee, received the delegation and said that this visit reflects Saudi Arabia's keenness to continue its support for Lebanon.

"This is the first time that Lebanon receives a delegation from the Saudi Shura Council which is an indication of Saudi Arabia's willingness to preserve its relation with the Lebanese people," Salam said.

The delegation will hold meetings in the coming days with President Michel Aoun, House Speaker Nabih Berri, and Prime Minister Saad Hariri.
