RIO DE JANEIRO, June 18 (Xinhua) -- Peru captain Paolo Guerrero said Tuesday that his team has what it takes to beat Brazil in their Copa America clash on Saturday, a result that would secure the Blanquirroja top spot in Group A.

Brazil currently lead Peru on goal difference, with both teams having secured four points from their first two matches.

Both teams need at least a draw at Corinthians Arena to be guaranteed of a place in the quarter-finals.

"Now we have to rest because Brazil are coming and we know that they are difficult opponents, but we are capable of playing a great match," Guerrero said after Peru's 3-1 victory over Bolivia on Tuesday.

Guerrero was on target at the Maracana stadium, taking his personal Copa America scoring tally to 12 goals since debuting in the tournament in 2007. He also provided the assist for Jefferson Farfan's 55th-minute goal, which gave Peru the lead after a lethargic start.

"The most important thing is how we worked as a team," the 35-year-old Internacional striker said. "I'm grateful for the commitment and sacrifice of my teammates. We have to continue on that path."

"In the first few minutes we struggled for rhythm. We had possession but we were unable to use it effectively. Bolivia's first goal made life hard for us but we were able to equalize quickly and that put us at ease," the former Bayern Munich forward added.
