BEIJING, June 19 (Xinhua) -- China's top political advisor Wang Yang on Wednesday urged efforts to promote the high-quality development of China's manufacturing sector.
The manufacturing industry is the foundation of China and the main battlefield of high-quality development of economy, Wang said at the closing meeting of the seventh meeting of Standing Committee of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) in Beijing.
Wang is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.
China has become the world's largest manufacturing country as the reform and opening-up significantly accelerates the process of China's industrialization, Wang said.
Despite the complicated political environment both at home and abroad, China's sound industrial system, huge market space and abundant human capital will rejuvenate the manufacturing sector, he noted.
