NEW YORK, June 19 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks traded mixed on Wednesday, as Wall Street looked to the conclusion of a two-day policy meeting of the U.S. Federal Reserve against a backdrop of trade tensions and concerns over economic growth.

At midday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 17.38 points, or 0.07 percent, to 26,482.92. The S&P 500 was down 0.57 point, or 0.02 percent, to 2,917.18. The Nasdaq Composite Index decreased 4.60 points, or 0.06 percent, to 7,949.29.

Shares of Adobe rose nearly 4.6 percent, after the U.S. software giant posted better-than-expected earnings for the first quarter, which were driven by its strong Creative Suite business and digital media offerings.

Seven of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors traded lower around midday, with the materials sector down nearly 1 percent, leading the losers.

Investors and analysts anticipate the U.S. central bank to announce its stance on interest rates at 2 p.m. EST (1800 GMT). The Fed chair is also scheduled to speak at a news conference after the announcement.

The broad market has expected the Fed to maintain its benchmark rates unchanged, yet also priced in several rate cuts later this year.

Probabilities of "no change" in Fed's interest rates reach about 74 percent around midday, according to the CME Group's FedWatch tool, with the other 26 percent centralizing on an easing monetary policy.

Such expectations have propelled the three major benchmark indexes to surge on Monday to the highest levels since May, among which the Dow once skyrocketed over 400 points during Monday sessions. Enditem
