SINGAPORE, June 20 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.8 percent, or 26.34 points, to close at 3,314.51.
A total of 1.56 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.31 billion Singapore dollars (about 965.45 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 237 to 162.
The STI index went up 1.53 percent, or 49.44 points, to close at 3,288.17 Wednesday. Enditem
